Treatments in Conventional Medicine and Their Limitations
Conventional medicine focuses all efforts on dissolving clots or widening vessels to secure blood flow.
Under the diagnosis of a Korean Medicine physician, BM Korean Internal Medicine Clinic clearly understands the mechanisms of these drugs and presents the optimal treatment path, including rapid transfer to a tertiary hospital in emergencies.
- Antiplatelets/Anticoagulants: Aspirin, Clopidogrel, Heparin, etc., are used to prevent clots from growing larger.
- Anti-anginal Medications: Nitrates and Beta-blockers are administered to reduce myocardial oxygen demand and alleviate pain.
- Coronary Angiography & Intervention (PCI): Based on risk assessment, vessel imaging and stent insertion are performed within 24–72 hours.
[Limitations]
Emergency measures may put out the immediate fire, but the inside of the vessel remains like a 'time bomb that could explode again at any time.'
Even after stenting, microvascular circulation disorders may persist (No-reflow phenomenon), and taking strong antithrombotic drugs increases bleeding risk.
Above all, if the root causes of the disease—'vascular inflammation' and 'turbid blood'—are not improved, instability can return at any moment.
BM's Integrative Solution: Beyond Crisis to Peace
BM Korean Internal Medicine Clinic goes beyond the limits of conventional medicine.
Our goal is 'Complete Recovery', regaining cardiac stability after the acute phase and maintaining a healthy life without recurrence.
- Precision Diagnosis: We instantly determine urgency through rapid Troponin tests and ECG monitoring. In the stable phase, we track and manage recurrence risk factors with Pulse Wave Velocity (HRV) and blood tests.
- Integrative Therapy: During the recovery phase after the acute stage, we prescribe Herbal Medicine such as 'Guanxin Danshen Drop Pill (Simjeokhwan)' or 'Compound Danshen Tablets' to protect vascular endothelial cells and improve microcirculation. Acupuncture alleviates pain and lowers sympathetic tension, relieving the burden on the heart.
- Lifestyle Redesign (Health Freedom Camp): Through the 'HF Camp', we correct diets and lifestyles that burden the heart. A strict low-salt, low-fat diet and stress management are the surest shields to strengthen blood vessels and protect the heart's peace.
Evidence-Based Korean Medicine (Scientific Evidence)
Research results demonstrating that Korean Medicine treatments are effective in recovering heart function, preventing recurrence, and improving quality of life for patients with Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) and myocardial infarction.
- Therapeutic Effect of Danhong Injection on ACS (Systematic Review & Meta-Analysis):When 'Danhong Injection' (extracts of Salvia miltiorrhiza and Safflower) was combined with standard Western treatment for ACS patients, the total effective rate for symptoms was 3.65 times higher, and the improvement rate of ischemic changes on ECG was 2.72 times higher. It was also confirmed to significantly lower blood viscosity and inflammation levels (hs-CRP), stabilizing acute-phase plaques.

- Effect of Tongxinluo on Outcomes in Acute Myocardial Infarction (JAMA RCT):In a large-scale study of 3,797 acute myocardial infarction patients, combining 'Tongxinluo (Tongsimnak)' with standard treatment reduced the risk of Major Adverse Cardiac and Cerebrovascular Events (MACCE) by 36% at 30 days and 1 year. Notably, it significantly reduced cardiac death by 30%, proving its efficacy in microvascular protection, a challenge in modern medicine, in a top-tier global journal.

- Compound Danshen Dripping Pills vs Nitrates for Stable Angina (Meta-Analysis):A direct comparison between Nitrates (the standard angina treatment) and the herbal preparation 'Compound Danshen Dripping Pills (CDDP)' showed that CDDP was superior in both symptom improvement rate (RR=1.18) and ECG improvement rate (RR=1.25). In particular, the risk of side effects such as headache or hypotension was drastically lower at 22% of the Nitrate group level, confirming it as an effective yet much safer therapeutic agent.
